Hurling - 2008 Semi-Final Waterford v Tipperary

Waterford 1-20 Tipperary 1-18
Waterford have not made it to the All Ireland Hurling Final since 1963 – an agonising 45 year wait despite having made it to 5 semi-finals from 1998 to 2007.
The 2008 campaign got off to a bad start with a first round defeat to Clare in Munster followed by dramatic resignation of manager Justin McCarthy. Clare legend Davy Fitzgerald takes over and the rollercoaster through the qualifiers gets underway with wins over Antrim, Offaly and a narrow 1 point win over Wexford.
Now it’s a semi-final clash against Tipperary, National League and Munster Champions and favourites for that final spot against Kilkenny. So can the Waterford stars such as Eoin Kelly, Dan Shanahan, Ken McGrath and John Mullane upset the odds and bridge that 45 year gap? Once again celebrate the power of Munster Hurling.
