NOW ON DVD 1975-1980 HURLING AND FOOTBALL FINALS www.dvdsales.ie

When we started rolling out the All Ireland Final series we were regulary asked if and when we would be releasing the matches from the 1970's - particularly the late 70's. This is an era that will be forever marked as one of the greatest in both hurling and football.

In football it was Kerry versus Dublin, The Kingdom versus the 'Dubs', Micko versus Heffos Army - rivalry at its peak. Two of the greatest teams ever clashing on many occasions over those years. Remember Kerry beating Dublin in the final of 1975, Dublin getting revenge defeating Kerry in the final of 1976...and so the story goes. These two counties dominated and the star players are legends to this day. Counties like Roscommon and Armagh were also strong at that time and made it to finals but were unable to break the stranglehold of the big two.

In hurling the big story was Cork. Why? Well they achieved something that is a rarity and hasn't been achieved in hurling since - a 3-in-a-row with titles in 1976, 1977 and 1978. These set of matches have been much requested and we are delighted to release them - all at the same time. Kilkenny wrapped the Cork run with titles in 1975 and 1979, defeating Galway on both occasions but in 1980 Galway made the big breakthrough defeating Limerick in the final. Yes,  hurling fans had it good in the late 70's especially if you were from Cork.

Now you can relive these great football and hurling finals on DVD.
